I've been looking everywhere for information on how to make furnace transition plenums. I can't find much literature??? What's the process.

You have to lay out a transition. In order to lay it out u need to measure a few things, lenth , size of openings, offset, etc. the form of lay out used is called trianglation, it is actually very easy. All you have to do to start is pick a side of your transition, lay out one at a time, depending on the size shape and number of offsets you could make it in two or four pieces etc..the big thing here is that if one side has a offset you need to figure that into the true length of the material needed, lets say your fitting is 24" long and the side you are working on has a 4 inch offset, either up or down, you will need a piece of material that will be long enough to to equal a 2 on 12 pitch, imagine a roof pitch, look at your piece from the side it will rise 2 inches in every foot... so if you take a square or draw a right angle on your metal and measure up 4 inches mark, measure horazontal 24 mark, measure the distance from the 2 and you have your true length, now you could just get the true length by measureing directly from the 2 two openings that you are trying to adapt...

I would recommend having a tin knocker do it.
