Why does 3amp fuse blow constantly on a Nordyne R4 series hvac. Also, as an experiment I disconnected one plug that contained a yellow jumper wire. I also disconnected a plug to the blower unit for the furnace. I then was able to reconnect the plugs and the unit was then ran for about 20 minutes, then the fuse blew again. What should I be looking for?

3 amp fuse is in the control voltage circuit -24 volts-this controls the t-stat.does the unit blow the fuse when there is no call for heat or cool?does the fuse blow in heat or cool mode?shut the unit off and disconnect the thermo stat wires at the t-stat.turn the unit back on,(make sure nine of the wires touch )does it still blow the fuse?if not ,it may be just a bad t-stat,if it blows the fuse with the wires disconnected the short could be at the transformer or in the circuit board.
