I have a 2 1/2 ton Goodman self contained heat pump with a heat strip which was set up with a Janitrol HPT 18-60 thermostat. I replaced that with a Honeywell TH5220D1003 thermostat. The Janitrol was wired:
Y= yellow
G= green
R= red
O= white
E= blue (also jumpered to W2)
C=no wire

I wired up the new Honeywell:
Y= yellow
G= green
R= red (also jumpered to Rc)
O/B= white
E = blue

I have the thermostat set on cool and the compressor runs, but it blows out heat instead of cool. Did I miswire it? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Place a jumper wire between Aux and E. Other than that, you have wired it correctly.

You must configure your new stat for heatpump operation.
option 1 = 5
2 = 0

"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I completely forgot to configure it for heatpump operation. You're a life saver!! It works like a charm now!!
