Your heating guy couldn't figure it out? Sounds like you need a new heating guy. Answer me this: Is the circulator running when problem occurs? That would suggest a miswired control. It could also be a zone valve stuck open or system installed without flow-checks. Did the heating guy use a meter?

No, he did not have a meter. My heating system does not have specific zones. Im rather surprised he didnt figure it out either. He wants to order a whole new 3 way box thingie and ill end up dropping another 400 bucks on it for a 1 year fix....
which is what brought me to this wonderful website....
i personally think there is a short somewhere in the wiring brought on by heat, condensation, etc whatever, that shorted it out becuase its fairly new... 4 years old new. too old for typical new appliance malfunctions, too young to die out. but he cannot figure out that short, to be honest i would be happier if he replaces the interior thermostat rather than me spend the bucks on another 3 way valve thing (which by the way finctions exactly how it says it should in its instructions.)

You really need a new heating guy. When the next guy arrives, don't let him in the house without a meter. If he says he doesn't have one then tell him to get off your property and call someone else.

To verify if the actuator has a demand to open or you have a sticking valve.

Your dog looks a bit angry. What do you feed that thing? I think what houston is saying is that this rabid wolf is a better service tech than your guy.

Don't worry he won't bite, you just have to pet his head.
Have you ever heard that one before. I always counter with "Dogs don't bluff".
I just meant GRRR.

Only once. A customer had a German shepard that looked like the picture above. I asked them to put him in a room or a cage and they did. The thing that kills me is that once I went into the basement they let him loose. I was trapped and had to crack open the basement door to repeat my request for the dog to be penned up. That pissed me off. What a bunch of jamokes!
