"Baystat239 to White-Rodgers questions" , posted Sat 28 Jun 21:24user profileedit/delete messagepost reply

I just replaced our upstairs thermostat (Baystat239) with a Honeywell 7-day programmable. But as a result I've discovered that what I really need there is a thermostat with a wireless remote sensor. (Given the walls, ceiling, and such, I just can't run wire to where the stat should be. The Baystat239 replaced an older one that was in a good place, but the contractor couldn't run the wire there either, and that was done before the days of wireless.) We have a heat pump system with aux electric heat.

I'm looking at the White-Rodgers 1F85RF-275, but it's not obvious how some of the connections would work. I'm thinking of the following to go from the Baystat239 to the W-R, but have some questions:

R->R
B->C
G->G
O->O
F->L
T: unused
Y->Y1 What about Y2?
W->Y2 Is this right?
X2->E/W1 Is this right?

Any insight into this will be appreciated. The W-R 1F85RF-275 wiring/installation diagrams can be found at http://www.ntsupply.com/files/products/0037-6841.pdf .

Y2 will be unused.
W and X2 will go to E/W1.
Be sure to select HP2 For step 1 in the installer configuration.

Baystat = White Rodgers
W = W2
X2 = E/W1
R = R
B = C
G = G
O = O
F = L
T = tape off
Y = Y1
Select HP1 (or W2 will be W3)

Thanks. Houston204's answer makes more sense in this case since, so far as I know, this system is a single compressor with a single stage. (Actually, I expect we'll have to replace the system in the near future since it's now over 15 yrs. old and I had to replace the outside fan motor last year. But it's still ticking!)

My bad. Disreguard my nonsensical post.
