I've heard that air in the system (suction line I think) can be a problem. If this is true, would there be any symptoms? My unit sounds normal and a technicians gauges give normal readings. I'm wondering if there would be signs if that was an issue. Had some A/C issues since moving into my new home about a year and a half ago, but seems to be fine now. I don't really think I have a problem, but sometimes my brain likes to create issues.

Impossible to get air in the system (always under positive pressure) unless the tech is a goof up and forgets to purge his hoses when he adds freon. The unit would not cool properly and fortunately those goof ups are rare. Don't worry about it.

Is that also still the case if the txv valve was replaced. I can't remember if the system was vacuumed out after he put in the new txv and before he charged it with freon, or even if that's what should be done. But if it is cooling the house, then I can assume that isn't an issue?

If it is cooling the house don't worry. If you have a cooking type thermometer check the temp difference between the supply and return air ducts. It should be between 15-20 deg F. The larger outdoor line should be beer can cold and sometimes sweating. Wash your outdoor coil with a garden hose (NO pressure washer!) a couple of times this Summer. Relax, take 2 Tylenol and call me in the morning.

Thanks for answering some of my questions. I think I have about a 20 degree difference in temp. I will take you up on your advice, though maybe I should make it a margarita instead of tylenol.
