I have a non-functioning Carrier 38CK compressor unit. Unit was working fine and has stopped functioning without any hints/ prior indications of an pending issue.

Neither the coolant compressor nor fan on the Carrier unit are running. Interior house blower fan runs fine.

I have a second 38CK unit that is operating without any issues.

Looking for suggestions on debugging/isolating the issue.

I would start by checking the breaker to the outdoor unit. If it's tripped then reset it and report how many seconds it takes to trip again or whatever happens. Post results.

The dual capacitor in the condenser is probably swollen and needs replacement.
