I have a Frigidaire G6RA natural gas furnace. I turned on the heat this morning and it came on normally. A while later, I saw that the tstat was calling for heat but the furnace was not on. An LED code of 4 blinks (Ignition Failure, check ground) was present.
I checked and thoroughly cleaned the flame sensor, but no luck. I checked the ground and it is solidly attached. I turned off and on the furnace and noticed that it comes on when the tstat calls for heat, but the igniter DOES NOT glow. The gas comes on for about 5 seconds, then is cut off because of no flame (igniter). This cycles about four times before the 4-blink error code occurs.
Any suggestions? Is the igniter possibly bad?

sure sounds like the ignitor is bad or it's not getting voltage sent to it.

Does the ignitor look like this one?

No, it's more of a coil. Here's a pic. (location outlined in yellow on left).

well check to see if you're getting voltage to it or pull it out carefully and see if there's a crack in it.
