Did some searches here and I probably don't know enough to know what I'm searching for.

I have a Trane air handler and a Trane XE1000 heat pump. I want to change my current Honeywell T8011R thermostat with a new honeywell RTH7500.

The wiring has almost a 1 to 1 relationship except for one wire - W1.

Here's a photo of my current wiring setup on the 8011R. Things to notice: there is a small orange wire jumping W2 and E, and there is a barely visible brass jumper from W1 to Y: http://tinyurl.com/5txmtd

As I understand, I will wire the new honeywell as shows in this picture (with AUX and E jumped and RC and R already jumped by the factory): http://tinyurl.com/5ff5bf

My question is - what about my old W1 which is supposed to be jumped with Y?

According to the wiring diagram in the old stat's user manual: http://tinyurl.com/6f23hn - W1 and Y are jumped because I do not have separate heating compressor contractors - but I don't know what that really means, or what it means for the new RTH7500.

Can anyone help me on what the old W1 would map to?

Thank you!

If you click IMG Code, you can paste you pics on your post.

You wired it correctly in your diagram. No jumper is required between Y1 and W since it does this internally when you configure it for heat pump operation. Jumper Aux to E.

option 170 = 7
190 = 0
240 = 9

What is that, an 8 megapixel camera? It looks like a poster image.

Thank you thank you thank you. your description makes sense. And nope, just an old 5mp camera. I totally didn't think to put the images inline.

Thank you again. I'll get to hookup soon.
