Tried our central air for the first time a week or so ago & something's wrong.
I don't know too much about this stuff, but I'll tell you what I know. The fan is turning on the unit outside. Inside, the vents are blowing air that is barely cool, not cold.
I took the cover off the unit outside & cleaned out the leaves & stuff, & hosed the whole thing out really well. It looked pretty clogged up with dust & dirt, etc., but I sprayed it until the water was coming out clear on the other side.
About the unit--I don't know much. I was told that the guy who lived here before was an HVAC tech & basically pieced together the furnace & AC from spare parts so I have no idea of the age, brand, etc.
Sound like any obvious problem?

" pieced together the furnace & AC from spare parts". What do you expect. Call a service tech and see if it has any freon in it or is worth repairing.
