I was just quoted a few prices to replace my condenser and evap coil (not replacing the furnace). I was curious to see if the price is within reason. The original condenser/coil and furnace is a 2.5 ton (12 year old) Goodman.
I was quoted 2950 for a 2.5 ton Payne 14 (maybe 13...but think 14) SEER and 3550 for a 2.5 ton Trane 14 SEER (installed prices, both of them). No ductwork at all...just take one out and put one in.
Does this sound about right? I'm in PA if that matters at all, heh =)

That price is reasonable, but I can't imagine why you want to keep a 12 year old furnace, total change out wouldn't be much more.
