what do i look for if the check valve in the heat pump is failling or has failed. when my unit runs in cooling the check valve in the liquid line rattles very loudly. i never see my head preassure get above 195 psi on a 85 degree outdoor day. also i have the factory charge with no more than 25feet of tubbing.

If the check valve is fully seated, there will be a noticable temp. difference at the inlet and check side of the valve. If the check valve is not fully seated, very little temp. difference at the check valve, and Suction and Head pressures will be close to equalized. Verify that the reversing valve is fully sliding from heat to cool.

would the delta t on the check valve be in cooling mode? how about the noise comming from the check vale. i know that my solenoid coil is energized but what do i look for if the reversing valve dosent fully seat.
