Im replacing a new fan motor on my trane condensing unit the old one stopped moving and just had a buzz. The new one I got has different color wiring and has 4 wires instead of 3 . The old one was purple brown and black. The new one has 2 browns one of which has a white stripe on it, a black and an orange. Im assuming at least one of the brown goes back on the capacitor part that says fan I dont know what to do with the other one. also im assuming the black goes on the side of the block where the old one was. Now I am lost as to where the rest go. If anyone can help. Please do. Ill be waiting...

much appreciated!!

No. Wire it as shown in the "4 wire" diagram below. You should have gotten a new capacitor with the motor.

This diagram is brought to you by the good graces of Houston204.

black wire to one side of contactor, orange to com on capacitor, brown to fan on capacitor, should be another wire from contactor going to common on capacitor usaully red, tape off brown wire with white stripe, this is three wire method if still confused a gentleman called houston will have some very useful diagrams of 3 and 4 wire methods.need to check your amp draw after you get it going.good luck
