My current Tstat (8400C) has the following wires connected...
Wire Color ---- Terminal
White W
Yellow Y
Green G
Red R

orange, blue, black and brown wires are present at the Tstat, but unused. I am changing to the T8011R which has the following terminals: R,W2,L,B,O,W1,G,C,Y,E.....W1 and Y are factory jumped.

I have 2 zone system controlled by a Honewell TempTroll interface mounted near the air handler in the attic.

Any ideas on the correct wiring for the T8011R? Thanks in advance.

Your new stat is a heat pump thermostat. If you purchased it, I suggest returning it for a conventional stat since you do not have a heatpump.

The T8011R Heat Pump Thermostat provides 24 Vac
control of a two-stage heating and one-stage cooling heat
pump system with manual changeover from heat to cool.
First stage heating and cooling cycle rates are fixed at 3
cph.

Tempstar heatpumps require the O terminal energized for cooling. I see it is not currently in use.

What other info should I gather....it looks and acts like a heat pump to me....the unit heats and cools the house fine...I just want to change over to the programmmable Tstat....I got 2 off of a HVAC guy for $50 and they are brand new.

Would it help if I got the wiring from the controller in the attic?

The model number of your Honeywell Temptroll so I can check if a heatpump stat requires additional configuration at the Zone Controll.

The model number of your outdoor unit might also help.

It wouldn't hurt to try...
White to W1
Yellow to Y
Green to G
Red to R

Remove the jumper between W1 and Y

You will need Common wired to "C" at the stat and zone control.
I would use blue for C.

I know that a Carrier Weathermaker zone control does not require a heatpump stat to control heatpumps.

I have a TEMPSTAR heat pump outside unit model # N2H3Y2AKA100.
The controller in the attic is a Honeywell Universal Mini Zone TrolATemp. Zone 1 on the controller has the following: R, C, E, W1, Y1, G, W2, Y2, O, B, L. It shows that these connections should go to a Stat with the same connections. My current Stat, which apparently is not a heat pump Stat has wires connected to R, W1, Y1, G. Again, the new STAT has G, C, R, W1, Y, L, W2, E, B, O. W1 and Y are jumped. Should this jumper stay?

How should I wire up the new STAT (T8011R)?
