We just changed the contactor on the outside ac unit, checked the breakers, thermostat turns on the furnace fan but the outside ac until still will not come on. We can push in on the contactor buttons and the unit comes on but as soon as you let go it shuts off. HELP

Do you have 24 volts entering the condenser?
Does your new contactor have a 24 volt coil?

If you have 24VAC entering the unit but do not have 24VAC at the contactor it is probably a pressure switch or timer issue.

If you measure 240 volts at the 2 small orange wire nuts, you may have miswired your contactor.
