Hi, is there a way to increase the cool fan speed on a Carrier 58STX90-16 . My A/C contractor says that it only has 2 speeds and the cool speed is not giving me enough air flow to cool my home. Before the a/c was installed the unit could heat the home perfectly with good airflow.
Thanks!

Most furnaces that are not variable speed blowers (Which would be yours)have 4 speeds and only two are used one lower speed for heat and the highest speed for cooling. Heat does not require a lot of air flow to work (it absorbs easily thru the house)Air conditioning on the other hand needs to move a lot of air to effectively cool. Furnaces come shipped in the highest speed for cooling. Adding the A/C coil adds about a 1/4" or more static pressure that will slow the air down. most likely if the unit is sized OK the problem is air distribution. With a little info on your home I can pinpoint the problem (SQ FT, age, 1 story or 2 story and A/C size)

Thanks for the reply. The home is 2600sq ft 2 story home and 2 years old. The AC unit is a 4 ton Ducane with a EMT248NBM1 coil. The house has 2 supplies 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. Here are some pics of the mess I have in my attic now.
