I just measured the current to the motor in an air handler. I measured 14 A, but it's rated at 11.8 A. I had just replaced the bearing on the blower, because it had worn out. Before that the current was about 11 A. Could something have happened to the blower when the old bearing wore out.

Probably you moved the shaft and aggravated/disturbed the other one and it is now tight. I ALWAYS change both and the shaft if possible. I always use roller/ball bearings and a new shaft so you have a matched set of bearings and less problems.
