Hey guys, my capacitor on my condensing unit went, so I replaced it. I checked the contact to make sure it turns on correctly and it does. However, the thermostat will not turn the unit on and the blower is constantly on when I turn the breaker on regardless of the thermostat. Any help on what could possibly be the cause of this would be greatly appreciated. I have a trane unit and I think the last guy who replaced the blower motor may have rewired something incorrectly. It worked fine for about a year.

much appreciated!!

Is this a gas or electric furnace?
Do you have 24 volts between R to C (C is probably labeled B) at your furnace?

It is electric. and yes I have 24V. I know the ltv use to have kind of like a 18 pin jack that use to go from the old motor to the ltv and pins 1 and 9 were orange and blue with the rest white I believe it had something to do with the fan control as far as the blower motor goes now it looks like a capacitor was added I have a red and a blue not connected to anything and black is to black and green is grounded and one more i dont remember the color whether its orange or yellow connected to a red. And the blower stays on constantly when the breaker is switched on. Now before I replaced the capacitor on the condensing unit which is all I did, the condensing unit came on (Trane xr12)Now it only turns on when the contact is pushed in manually.

much appreciated!!

Did you measure for 24 volts, or just assuming it.
Do you get 24 volts to the outdoor unit?
Is this a heat pump?

Sorry I was mistaken about the 24V. No I was not getting 24V at the condensing unit Nor was the transformer converting any Low Voltage the Input had the 208 and there was no output. Do I just need to replace the transformer or is there something else that may have also caused the transformer to go.
Thanks...

much appreciated!!
