Does anyone know the ton or BTU rating on a Goodman CK-124-1B AC condensing unit?
Heres some stuff you don't need to read to answer that: I'm starting at the bottom here but I want to know that capacity as my home is socked in the tall pine trees and my utility bill and air handler physical size tells me it's way under-sized for what it would load calculate but works perfectly on the cooling side and does not run excessively or long. I also suspect a load calcuator would come up a litte short for heating (maybe they are more sophisticated now and would figure heavy shading, north facing, slopeing north lot etc.). I'm thinking geothermal HP and want a sense of just how short my cooling capacity is as current load calc programs would indicate (next step). I'm near certain my true heating loads swing the opposite direction to some extent. All said I may still be best in the middle (going with the load calcs) but my latest electric bill in north central Maryland holding 76 degrees round the clock was $133.00 thru July 7 on a 2,700 SF split level home (oil heat and HW, well pump and two freezers). Our utility here isn't cheap anymore and I think this current unit is a 10 SEER best case. I know it's over 10 year old. Yeah, it's a nice AC bill but the heat side is the pounder.
