Rheem Criterion RGDG-07EAUER split system with gas furnace and the blower will not shut off. AC still works, but tried to turn on the furnace to test and furnace will not start nor attempt to. Have read other posts and tried some of the options, though this system does not have the Honeywell or other fan controller near the burners, main board controlled?
I have tried getting a reading on the upper limit posts, no reading when contacting both posts, when contacting one post then grounding to frame using 200ACV meter setting I get a 25.8 reading. After a few moments of running that reading increases to 26.4.
This issue occured after very bad electrical storm and the power was shut off at the cabinet to prevent lightning surge while the system was in AC cycle. No idea if that would have anything to do with this issue. It did start when power was reapplied and system was restarted immediately afterwards. It is possible that the system did get a surge due to the storm. Any help would be appreciated.
Forgot to add this is the main fan not the induction blower.

Replaced thermostat and fan is still on unless I kill the power to the unit. Will try replacing main circuit board and upper limit switch.

Sounds like the circuit board got damaged. It is grounded to the furnace cabinet and even with the main switch off it could have got a backfeed if lightning hit nearby. You may want to try a new thermostat first. I recommend the Honeywell Vision or Focus Pro series.
