I replaced dual capacitor when it failed last week. i also wanted to replace fan motor. It worked since wednesday. today i shut it down to replace fan motor, compressor came on but fan did not. old motor isn't spinning either. today i replaced contacts and capacitor but compressor is running and fan will not run. Help!!

use a meter to chech voltage do u have 220 at the spot the fan moter is wired if not follow the wires a chipmunk may have chewed on 1 of them

Possbly you miswired the fan. Post the make and model number. Also look inside the electrical compartment on the condenser for a wiring diagram.

replacement fan only has three wires. black, purple, and brown. its OEM motor for Goodman 2.5 ton unit.

the problem is fixed. Thank you Freon. the black lead was off by one terminal. your response got me thinking. Much obliged my man!
