Bought a home and the electronic air cleaner (carrier, interfacing into an infinity system) was turned off. when I turn on the power almost right away it sounds like a bug zapper going crazy. 10 - 20 seconds left on is slows down to every 5-15 seconds (not normal intervals) arc (snapping) sound, if I look closely there is a flash of light in one of the cracks. Is this normal/okay?

thanks for any follow up.
RLTW!

The eac fins may have been slightly bent during a cleaning. The cell may need to be pulled and inspected. The best way to find where tis is occuring is to power it up and find the arcing area. Then pull the cell and adjust as needed.

Hi,
Clean the element. I do it in the dish washer.
