Even with the furnace OFF at the thermostat the fan sometimes comes on even though the thermostat fan setting is on AUTO. Can someone tell me what may be causing this?

THERMOSTAT INFO:

Hi,
Tried with system setting off and fan setting off? Trouble shooting is exercising logic.
