My furnace has started to run, even though I have it off at the thermostat. If I power off everything for a few hours and the temperature outside/inside cools down the heater remains off, But when it warms up over 85 degrees, on comes the heater. Is my problem in the thermostat or something more serious???

Thank you!
Chuck

Hi,
First question is whether it did same thing before. Was it working normal before this summer? Next it sounds like it thinks it is a/c
not a heater. First thing I'd do is to remove a wire from W terminal
from thermostat and see.

My heating system was working great, until two weeks ago. This is a brand new problem on a system that has given me no problems before now.

Thank you!
