HVAC tech replaced York outdoor AC unit with Goodman. Ran quiet and cool for two weeks then inside 15amp breaker tripped. HVAC tech returned and checked the 50A50-241 controller and found a burned area. He said that he would return with a replacement and a new blower. He replced the controller with a 33109167000 replacement. The breaker still tripped. He now replaced the blower and the breaker remained in place. He set the wall thermostat to "fan on" and the blower works great. Tech leaves. Wife calls me and tells me the tech left, fan is working but no cooling. I have her turn the breaker off. I call tech and leave message. I get home and check and see the blower is blowing on "Fan" but doesn't work on "auto". Blower works on "fan" but no cool. I contacted the tech through a neighbor and now have found that the tech was working jobs on the side. Tech will not return calls. I checked the thermostat wiring:
There are two brown cables coming into the board:
I replaced the thermostat batteries and wrote down the thermostat wires at the wall:

Wall thermostat: R R G W Y There is a red jumper from R ->R RGWY are in a brown cable going into the wall.

We have two thermostat cables coming from the house to the controller:
Top cable:
R->R
W->W
Y->Y1
G->G
Bottom cable:
R->Y1
W->C
The controller has a slow flashing green light.
I continue to see the blower working when the thermostat is set to COOL and the fan is to ON The blower stops when the thermostat is set to AUTO. No cool operation at all. Is there anything anyone can suggest before I find a new Tech?

Michael

Small Claims Court. Also, call a legitimate HVAC contractor.
