recently puchased and had installed new york 5 ton 13 SEER coil and outside condenser/compressor (H2RD060S06B and MC60D3XH1A) to replace an older 10 seer carrier N coil that was leaking. Issue is the unit will not cool the house like the old unit.
Still 5 ton unit, still R22. Liquid line never heats up. TXV is installed and bulb tight at vapor line at coil. Even replaced newly installed TXV to make sure (TR6 Danfoss)(same result) Is it possible that airflow is reduced based on larger coil area causing larger dp? Or is there something else? I have a two ton unit for the upstairs of the house sitting side by side with this and it operates like it should with a warm liquid line.
Any help?

What is the TXV bulb position (4-5 8-9 o'clock) is tightly secured to the suction line? Is the TXV bulb insulated? Is the equalization line before or after the TXV bulb? Do you have the required subcooling? Was the unit pressure and vacuum checked? Did you replace the AHU as well? If you didn't replace the AHU; you will not have a 13 SEER system, mismatching reduces SEER rating and cooling capacity. Make certain tha the subcooling is correct; it will help, but you will not be able to get 5 tons of refrigeration out of your mismatch. Probably need to purchase a 13 SEER AHU.

bulb is 9 oclock. It is secured by straps provided and insulated. Equlization is between bulb and txv. Unit was pressure/vacuum checked. The AHU was not replaced. Florida has law requiring matching of coil/condenser/compressor. The AHU is from an existing Carrier unit (2000 CFM). How is it possible that a 2000 cfm fan on a new ahu will be any different in terms of cooling capacity than an older ahu delivering the same cfm? I will receck subcooling and let you know. Pressures on a 85 deg day were 65/225
By the way, coil comes with schraeder at location of equalizer.
