I recently bought and installed a 13 seer goodman straight air unit. Everything seemed fine except the way to open the king valve was idfferent. Instead of the normal "use an alan wrench" way of opening it is like a 1/2 turn thing instead. I wanted to know if anyone has seen this and is it really just a 1/2 turn to open because the pressures are way off. Im not a certified hvac man but i have installed them for years. I have not changed the piston on the inside yet and I know that is a very important thing to do. the pressures were @ 80/250 when it first started running and the next day 150/220....Made no sense to me.
Thanks for any help.

It is a 1/2 turn butterfly type valve. Lennox uses them on their larger units. 150/220. Sounds like your compressor maybe damaged. Not sucking down or building up head pressure. Compression ratio should be at least 3:1
