Bought a house with a York heat pump already installed. The blower which is in the attic unit, never turns off, even if I turn the system off completely. The only way to turn it off is with the main breaker. My electronic thermostat has the option to turn the fan on or off, but my guess is there are some wires missing to the thermostat. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You either have your low voltage jumped at your air handler between R & G, Stuck relay on fan control board or shorted t-stat. Need a meter to know if your relay is stuck closed.

I forgot to mention that when either the AC or heat kick in, the fan turns at a faster rate. When either the AC or heat kick off, the fan resumes at a lower rate. I was told that this setup may be deliberate, to prevent condensation from forming in the air handler which was installed in the attic. (I live in Montreal, QC area). Any thoughts on that?

Thanks
