Hi everyone,

I hope this is an easy fix

I followed the manual with the Hunter 44360 and used the labels to match the Honeywell t8400c wire markers over to the Hunter fan unit.

I get it all hooked up and at first it looked good, the AC started up. Later I find out it doesn't want to shut off, no matter what I set the temp to. By taking the unit off the base the AC did shut off, but I know the wiring has to be the issue. I have found manuals for both units, but I am not an electronics guy.

So what I need is someone to say Honeywell W wire goes to BLAH Hunter connector and so on. I am hooking up a 4 wire unit, I have R W G Y connectors in use on the Honeywell and this is to a Heat pump. I have set the hunter to be using the heat pump mode.

Thanks for any help

Ron

First, if you are only using 4 wires....you DON'T have a heat pump.
1. R to Red
2. W to W
3. Y to Y
4. G to G

If you have 4 wires, you have a heating/air only. Set the thermostat to CONVENTIONAL.

Yes, I found out today that the manual is misleading in that it says to change it from standard to heat pump if you have a heat pump. All is well for now (haven't tried heating yet).

Thanks everyone.

Maybe your old manual can help.
