I have just moved into a new house (new to me) and have noticed that it takes a while to cool the house. When doing some electrical work I noticed there is a large amount of cool air coming from the outlets. Does this mean that the floorboard units are leaking into the walls? Is this supposed to happen? If not how do I fix it.

I have seen this in a home with a leaking discharge duct. The air was leaking into the attic, and with the rest of the house fairly tight, I guess it was pulling a vacuum through the holes in the top plates where the wiring entered the wall.

But if you are feeling cool air from receptacles near the ducts, they are probably leaking.
