I'm changin my old thermostat, there is the following wires combinationa and colors
o - orange
r - red
g - green
y - yellow
w2 - white
x - blue
e - black
there is another brown cable not connected. the old thermostat has two other connectors without cable B and L. this thermostat brand is Ruud.
I cant make the new thermostat (honeywell) to work. is not cooling the area.

If your heat pump is a Ruud and you have orange connected it won't work.

Ruud energize reversing valve in heating most other brands in cooling. So you need to read the instruction manual to see if the thermostat you have has switch for heat pump in heating mode if not then it won't work.

Post the model number of your new stat so that I can verify if it is compatible with your mutistage heatpump.
