I am trying to replace a White-Rodgers thermostat #1f58-77 with a Honeywell digital thermostat #RTH6300B. The old system had 7 wires on it and the new thermostat requires no more than 5 wires. I have been told that all you do is replace wire for wire, but again the color codes and amount of wires do not match. Can I get some help please.
