I am a Professional heating and a/c tech.A customer called and stated the he was experiencing a dirty sock odor coming from the ducting system. He stated the odor is not consistent. Now for a little background. This is a new home, built tight. However the homeowner leaves a window or two open 24/7.My company did not
do the install.I am going to clean the coil this week. Are there any other possibilities I may be overlooking.I did have a dirty sock coil on another job a couple of years back,we ended up replacing the coil.I just looking for other thoughts on this issue.

Only God knows what may have been put into the ductwork during construction. I would recommend they have the ducts cleaned as well.

Double check the evaporator drain is flowing properly, ptrap installed ect..

Bubba's half eaten ham sandwich and coffee cup in the return air duct. Had one hacker use his boots to "cut" the hole in the drywall B4 putting the grill on for the return air. Sweet.
