Hi all, I have a 1994 Trane XE 90 furnace. Last winter, it started acting up. It will be operating fine, then out of the blue, it will stop the burners and the blower will just continue to run until I turn it off at the thermostat and turn it back on, then it will start back fine. There's no rhyme or reason to the safety shut down of the burners, sometimes it will be after a few minutes of operation, other times it will operate fine for weeks on end.

I tried a new thermostat and that didn't help. An HVAC tech I know came out and bypassed the safety switches to see if that would fix it and it didn't.

Is the control board the last thing that may affect this? And if so, are there any good online places to purchase it? The HVAC tech gave me a local place I could buy one, but just wanted to see if there was any other input. Thanks

either your drain is acting up or you need a new flame sensor

Hi,
Silly question but is the furnace filter clean? Is air circulating fine(normal) throghout duct work?

Are there any LED fault codes on the circuitboard? A list of codes and descriptions are on the inside of the blower door. Try cleaning/replacing the flame sensor.

No fault codes, filter is clean. I'll check the flame sensor.

Thanks for the feedback. Any other input anyone? Thanks again.
