I have a goodman furnace gs8 what is the largest seer rated air condenser (goodman) that I could use.

Well, the most efficient units can get to be 19 SEER. Have a commfort consultant do a heat/cooling load of your house. He or she could then tell you what your best option is.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
