I have a Carrier 58wav075 weathermaker 8000 unit and the blower will not turn off. I have totally removed the thermostat off the wall with no wires attached and it still runs non-stop. The only thing that I changed and it immediately stayed on after I did it, was turn the unit off, remove the blower time delay jumper from like the 90 seconds pin to the 135 seconds pin. After I did that, the fan stays on and now it looks like a heating element comes on and stays on because it is glowing and warm and its on the right hand side in front of the burner. It now appears to be a board issue. I don't know how to reset the unit. If anyone has any knowledge of how to reset everything, please pass that along with detailed descriptions.
Thanks in advance!! HELP!

Hi, If you turn power off to the furnace and back on, it'll reset the board. No error code? Logic says if you did something and trouble started, then you'd reverse what you did first. The glowing thing you mention sounds like HSI. That board has a test point. By shorting it to ground, you can go through furnace cycles in test mode.

I have turned the furnace off and on without any change. I also tried moving the jumper back but I still have the same result. I did notice a loud humming noise coming from the circuit board area behind the cover plate. I haven't taken the plate off to look at any codes or anything yet but it sounds as if there may be a relay that is sticking on. Is there a relay behind the housing? I will check when I get back to the house this evening. I also saw where you talk about shorting the jumper to ground in order to go through test cycles. I will try that too. Thanks for your reply.

Hi, I am afraid the board might have suffered a static damage. Probably the ASIC chip is gone. Then the board does not have a brain.

It is the Furnace ignition coil that stays on. I'm guessing that the board is bad and keeping all of the relays contacted. Am I right with assuming that the board is bad? The board is the original board and does not have the LED's on it.
