I have a Trane model number TWE037E13FB1 air handler and a Trane model 2TWX4036A1000AA heat pump. They do not seem to be playing well together. Ice constantly forms inside of my unit, and I have had two coils replaced in the three years since I bought it. $600 each time. My service man (who also sold me the system) says that I keep the thermostat too low (72) and that I have too much chlorine in my indoor air. Besides a new mechanic, any suggestions would be welcome.

Ice forming in inside unit, and he is replacing indoor coil due to WHAT? Refrigerant Leak,Low airflow, stopped up coil or filter.
Variable drv. air handler is it possible the dip-switches where not set properly and wires to unit NOT wired. This unit ramps up and coil is frosty to remove humidity better, but if it's freezing up that is another problem that should be addressed.
Better call local Trane rep, and ask for qualified factory person check out system.

No, a new service company should do it. Too much cholrine in the air, that's a good one. They replaced the coils probably because the profit had a higer return than repairing the leak.
