I have a Lennox cb31mv-41 air handler and it came with a 9kw electric coil. I would like to up the size to a 15kw coil. What part number coil will my service man need and is it just a simple switch, take the 9 out and install the 15 and thats it or are there other changes needed? thank you.

Not that simple!

You have a heat package with 9 kw you would need to remove it and add a heat package with 15 kw. Or if there is room to add another strip into that package it might be possible, but, not likely.

I would contact a local Lennox service company they will assist you in making what modifications that are needed. And better make sure you have 60 amp breaker and 30 amp breaker in your main panel so you can supply the correct voltage to the new heat package.

10 kw =60 amp
5 kw =30 amp

Your guy needs to contact Lennox tech support if he is a dealer and see what they recommend. It may need a different sequencer or size of wire. For insurance regulations it should be done properly with their recommended parts/procedures. If there is ever a fire the sh*t may hit the proverbial fan. I am a Lennox tech and have worked on electric furnaces for 30 yrs and seen a few roasted ones.
