Trying to figure out if gas valve or ignitor is bad? I am getting 24volts to the valve once the ignitor lights but I am not sure if it is long enough before it times out. I ohmed the ignitor and got 54 Ohms. I do have gas pressure at the inlet of the valve.

The biggest question is do you have pressure on the burner side (outlet) of the gas valve. You can have voltage but your gas solenoid may be stuck shut. Check there first. If it times out on a newer furnace (having a circuit board) it should give you some indicator on what failed. With that said, did you check the gas pressure (INLET AND OUTLET)? How much? 3.5in of w.c. on a manometer? Nortons recommends no more that 55 ohms for a "good" ignitor.

Hi,
What brand model furnace? No error code? Can you smell gas?
