ok where to start............when running the A/C the system seems to run ALOT and when you bump the temp up to shut the system off it will not shut off if you turn the heat/cool switch to off the system still runs also.........the thermostat has been replaced (not with a top of the line one but that was the landlords doing) as of right now the system will "cycle" but runs contantly......I have to trip the breaker to shut the system down any help would be great I am pretty tech inclined and have done some HVAC before but after the thermostat replacement (which was my thought as to what was wrong) I am stumped.........HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your renting it is up to the landlord to take care of these things tell him to call a tech or you won't pay the rent.

You've got a short between Y and R. Check those wires going from the t-stat to the furnace then to the condenser. Somewhere, they are touching and creating a short.

well r and y read .613 resistance but i get tone between r and w this is a lennox EV1-41-M thanks
