had air added this summer and told HVAC guy that furnace blower was loud: he was suppose to set heating to a lower speed for me but heating is connected to black fan wire and cooling to blue [red and yellow are stored]. need motor info and manual to check [believe black is high speed]

Ductwork can be a factor as to why a blower is wired the way it is. Always use people that have good references rather than some joe hillbilly that claims they can install everything. Is the blower rated for nominal tonnage for the a/c.

call the contractor its for the better without knowing your delta t or temp rise being in range its not a recomended idea just to change a blower speed upon this.

Black = High Sp
Red = Low Sp
Yel = Med
Blue = Med/High
