I have a trane xe90 in my house I know its pre 1996 when I baught the house. Last week the fan stopped working. i think it's straight forward to remove and replace but I'd like to know what you guys think. I think its a 3/4 horse constand motor does anyone out there know if it is? and can I replace with non factory parts?

I assuem you mean motor. How did you decide the motor is bad?
