I have a Beckett oil FWA Furnace that will not start. I'm not sure if it is an electrical problem or heater problem, thinking the latter. Press reset, nothing, no electric to the unit. I have a electric box dedicated to the heaterthat has power to it, but the wire coming out is cold. Thinking there is some safety/cutoff that stops the electric getting to the heater.

About 3 years old...anyh suggestions?

Thank you

Gary

check the breaker--check the on-off switch-check the screw in fuse under the switch.if you have a meter --start at the breaker and find out where the voltage drops off.may be blown fuse ,bad switch, loose connections......

The meter I have is a voltage detector, it tells me if the wires are hot or not. The wire leading to the eclectrical box is live, the fuse in the box is live, the wire coming out is not. This is the wire that leads directly to the heater.

If there is something wrong in the heater, would that wire be dead, as a safety shut off?

Thanks for your help.

Thank you
