I have a Trane XE90 that is 6 yrs old. All of a sudden nothing works. No AC, no heat, and the circulating fan does not come on. There is no voltage at the thermostat, however the transformer is putting out 24V in the furnace, and the control board is getting that at where it connects on the board.
No voltage at where the theremostat wires connect to the control board at all, so i know it's not the wires or the thermostat. Funny thing is the status LED on the control board is not lit nor does it flash at all.
Also, there is a humming coming from the control board.
Think it may be I need a new control board?
Any help would be appreciated!!

check for blown 5 or 3 amp fuse on control. check for and determine cause of blown fuse or it will blow again. This is assuming it has a fuse on the control, some tranes were not equipped with fuse on control board.

Forgot to mention that the fuse is fine. (I wish it was blown)

Hi,
Looks like one end of your 24V lost connection. Like missing ground?
You may have to flip the board and look at the solder traces to see if any trace is broken. Measuring the voltage at the entry points on the board is just that.

I pulled the board and found a spot on the sheet metal behind like there was an arc from behind the "C" connection for the thermostat wires to the metal the board is mounted to. Only thing is the standoffs that the board is mounted with won't allow touching. Also the trace on the board looks like it was vaporized running up 4 connections. I obviously need a new board, but am concerned that something outside of the board caused the short.
Any advice?
