I have a problem with a new steam boiler that i replace, the water return is very slow during the heating cycle which over time causes the boiler to over fill. could this problem be a wet return, if it is how do i repair, if not a wet return then what could be my problem. the old boiler had this same problem, this steam unit is a one pipe system in a very old building in chgo,il please help

When you say 'overfill' how far past the sight glass feed-water-valve-closed point does the water rise? If it's only an inch or two you may be okay since the next heating cycle will probably not lower the water level to the point more feed water is required. However you should be sure the feed water regulator is working (not allowing feed water to continue at the closed point) and and bypass feed valve, if any, is closed tightly and not leaking.

i have run into jobs that even though they were old installs they didn't have a hartford loop!!...if the wet return is clogged you can all was change it or go with a dry return.

do it once do it right
