I just lit the pilot for my heater, and I remember it doing this last year towards the end as well. I turn the thermostat up, and the burner lights, and then once it all gets warmed up, the fan starts, but only runs for a matter of seconds, then stops. the burner stays lit and then in a few seconds the fan will start again. Im guessing it is that the air it is drawing is so cold that the fan stops so the unit can heat up again enough for the fan to kick on. because it seems to get better as the temp in the house gets warmer. it was 57 when I got home so it was doing it very frequently at first. I left the cover off in case it was something like maybe not being able to draw enough through the filter, but it wasnt it. also, the switch at the fan is a 3 position switch, on/off/fan. theres a sticker that says turn to on for fresh air, but I dont see how it would make it draw outside fresh air, if thats even what it means. but I figured id try and put it to fan so maybe that meant it would draw inside air, but when its on fan the burner goes out and the fan stays on.
so is my temp switch inside bad? or what? its very annoying.
thanks

I believe the brand is NORDYNE, and the model number is MGHA-056ABFC-02.

Inside your cover there is a silver box with a white button on it. Pull the cover off you will see a round disc with numbers on it and sliding pieces in the slot. The one on the left is the fan off, move it to the left a bit at a time untill this stops. If you move it to far the fan won't shut off at all.

weak fan/limit switch or bad heat exchanger. Having a bad bad heat exchanger is serious business. Call a pro and have your unit checked out before it's to late.
