Hey Guys/Gals,
My blower motor (the one that circulates the hot/cold air through the house) is not turning on with my Trane XE90. The Furnace actually comes on and heats, but the blower doesn't start...leading to my furnace starting to overheat. Diagnostic LED is flashing slowly and consistantly, indicating no issues. When I turn the Fan switch on the t-stat to the "On" position (from the automatic position), the Fan doesn't start.
I'm guessing at this point that it's either the Fan motor, or the Capacitor connected to the Fan motor.
In your experiences, which one should I replace? Or am I completely missing something?
Thanks.

Turn off power. Set 'stat to FAN-ON. Go to furnace and open blower compartment. Note safety switch at the blower compartment. Now set power to on. o back and listen while you CAREFULLY close the blower compartment door safety switch. Does the motor hum? If not, is would appear there is no power getting to the motor and you may have a problem with the relay/control circuit. Only a voltmeter will tell you for sure.
If you try and spin the squirrel cage in the correct direction of rotation, does it spin freely and quietly? Does it continue to spin, even slowly. If the answers are yes, replace the run capacitor on the motor with an IDENICAL one.

No...the motor does not hum, move, or make ANY noise whatsoever.

Yes...it spins freely and quietly. No...it does not continue to spin. It is completely dead.
Is the relay/control circuit on the IC board itself? If it is the circuit, wouldn't that mean I need to replace the IC board?
Thanks again!!!
