Hello,
we just installed a 2002 carrier furnace model 9200 and the igniter won't ignite. we rewired it as the furnace guys that installed it thought that it could be the ground and still nothing. what are the chances that the whole mother board went out on a 6 year old furnace? Help do you have any other ideas that we can check

what type of igniter? If it's a hot surface, check its integrity. if a spark, check wire and module. Control board? i do not think so.
I like fixing everything.

Also check the draft inducer pressure safety switch, if you have one. If it's not working (proper inducer draft pressure), it will interrupt the whole ignition process. Jumper the safety as a test BUT IMMEDIATELY unjumper it until you determine why the draft pressure is not correct.
