Hp will not cut off when aux heat (back up oil furnace) kicks on. When temp in house drops more than 1 degree back up heat takes over but Hp is supposed to cut off. Too much heat in space is fire hazard. Thermostat type HoneyWell Vision Pro. Please help.

Maybe the outdoor temperature sensor is set too low.

Thanks for the info. I had bought an outdoor sensor but never hooked it up. Now i can find it and was hoping it was something else. Thanks. Now i know what i have to do. Phillip

Verify that option 200 = 1 and 210 = 0 (outdoor sensor required).
