I'm doing away with the gas furnace in my home due to high fuel cost and replacing it with electric baseboard heaters (I know it sounds odd but it is cheaper to run). Here is the issue, I have a/c with forced gas heating so the a/c will not be touched when the gas is removed, I want to wire the baseboards into the same thermostat that runs the current unit but I'm unsure on how to do this. The unit will be a 110v heater system that will be hardwired to the current electrical system. I'm just not sure on what wires will work the heat on the Thermostat. The thermostat is a Hunter brand digital programable system with the following wire connections..G RC RH Y/O W/B Y1... The RC and RH are jumped for the 4 wire system and the Y1 is not utilized with the current system. What wires will I need to connect in the heater and on the thermostat? Any help will be appreciated, I'm a procrastinatior and it's starting to get cold...lol.. Sorry for the lengthy post.

thats a low voltage stat trying to control a line voltage heater.the hook-ups are for a 24V system furnace or boiler setup
It ain't going to get any lighter looking at it!

You would need to use a relay with a 24v coil to switch the 115v circuit on and off. It would be easier just to put in a line voltage thermostat to control the baseboard heater.
Are you sure installing baseboards is your best solution? It sounds like a step backward to me!
It's only a shock if your not expecting it!
